The two companies are already partners at the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team, where perhaps confusingly, Aston Martin is the team’s naming sponsor, but the engines are badged as TAG Heuer. Despite Aston Martin’s long relationship with other watch brands, this isn’t the first time that TAG Heuer has worked on watches related to the venerable British car manufacturer, with at least two TAG Heuer watches developed in the mid-2000s being inspired by Aston Martin. Aston Martin Racing Formula 1 chronograph, which uses the standard F1 43mm stainless steel case with a notched steel bezel and a black matte aluminium ring (with Aston Martin Racing text) and a tachymeter scale.
The watch has a black dial with “lime essence” highlights: central chronograph hand, sub-dial hands, inner minuterie flange and of course the Aston Martin wings logo. The dial features grey superluminova® and black gold polished hands, hour markers, as well as a grey TAG Heuer logo.

The watch also offers a bespoke black leather strap (apparently the first time TAG Heuer has offered a leather strap on a Formula 1 men’s watch). The shaped strap features lime stitching and fits perfectly with dial design.
The dial features black gold plated polished hour and minute hands and indexes with grey superluminova®, all contrasted with a central hand and black flange with lime essence and grey 60 seconds scale. The design also has an angled date at 4 O’clock as well a grey TAG Heuer logo set on the black opalin dial. Water resistant up to 200m.

About the TAG HEUER Carrera Heuer-01 Aston Martin Chronograph-CAR2A1AB

The watch was based on the 45mm Carrera Heuer-01 and finished with a more subdued colour scheme than the lime AMR watch. Rather than using the standard Carrera Heuer-01 case, this watch instead has a unique steel centre with shaped lines on the side, which TAG Heuer says is to “evoke speed, the race track and a piston”. Whatever the inspiration, the finishing looks fantastic and a clear departure from other Carrera Heuer-01s.
The other unique aspect of the case design are the revised lugs, which again have a different shape than the standard model.
The 12 and 6 o’clock sub-dials also have a new design, and the Aston Martin logo sits at the 9 o’clock register. The black and silver colour scheme of the dial is only broken up by the brilliant red tip of the central chronograph hand and red TAG Heuer shield on the ceramic black bezel, which also features “Aston Martin” text.
