Corum presented in 2013 the Admiral's Cup AC-One 45 chronograph as a new line within its iconic Admiral's Cup collection. Less "peculiar" and more contemporary in design, the AC-One 45 has since seen some more elaborate models, all which seem to shout: "This is not your grandfather's Corum watch."
In this autumn of 2019, this emblematic range of the brand in the "key", is enriched with four new references, all with a 45 mm case, 100 meters waterproof: rose gold and titanium, titanium with black PVD treatment , rose gold and grade 5 titanium and finally, titanium.
For these new variants, Corum has also included two titanium inserts between the bezel and the case to offer the possibility of playing with colors and materials: the ability to mix and match is unlimited and the Swiss watchmaker will experience in the future.

We find, of course, the famous twelve-sided window deposited by Corum but here presents a more angular dodecagonal structure than before with more rounded corners. In addition, the dial has been modified to look more "clean." The chronograph sub-dials are grouped, but the guilloche work and framing of each sub-dial adds refinement and more visual texture that complements the overall design, rather than colliding. The date window between 4 and 5 o'clock is framed in a similar manner and, fortunately, matches the color of the respective sub-dial. The hourly and faceted hands and minutes hands are not as readable as they could be, although I understand them and I agree with them as a pure aesthetic decision. Fortunately, the ends of the hands have light, as do the hour markers.

The 12 nautical flags, inseparable symbols of the Admiral collection, remain present, but in a more discreet way; they appear on the edge as an index of hours, but without the bright colors to give the watch a slightly less sporty look. The set is protected by a sapphire crystal.
On the motor side, turning the Corum Admiral AC-One 45 Chronograph reveals a display case and the Corum CO 132 automatic movement, which, I believe, is a modified ETA movement. The black PVD coated rotor occupies a large part of the bottom of the case, although the Corum logo in the gold versions looks great, as do the decorative screws. CO 132 operates at 28,800 vph and has a power reserve of 42 hours. The latter is visible through the perforated bottom of the box.
While previous versions were offered with a rubber or metal strap, this new chronograph comes with a vulcanized rubber strap with a triple folding clasp, which replaces the old folding clasp. Corum will also offer the watch with a titanium or rose gold bracelet. The white or black dial is priced at $ 9,900 and the 18k rose gold model with a white or black dial is priced at $ 18,000.
